Full Day Trip
Pick up between 2.45 and 3.00 where you will head to Chivay, the gateway to the Colca Canyon. The journey will take around three hours. Once you arrive in Chivay, you will have breakfast before the transport takes you to the Cruz del Condor (Cross of the Condor viewpoint). Here, you will spend some time to try and see the magnificent Andean Condor in flight.
During the morning you will stop in some stunning Peruvian towns and villages including Yanque and Maca. Marvel at the architecture and learn about the typical crafts done by the people who live there. It is possible to see pre-Incan terraces still in use to cultivate quinoa and corn.
There is the option to visit some beautiful hot springs from around 45 minutes, before lunch (not included in price) which will take place in Chivay. You will then depart for your return to Arequipa with the aim of arriving one block from the Main Square around 18.00. During the journey back, several stops will be made so visitors can enjoy the highest pass which showcases an incredible view of the surrounding volcanoes and the Pampa Caรฑahuas National Reserve. Here it is possible to see vicuรฑas, alpacas, llamas, ibis and even flamingos!
This one day option is a great choice for those who are on a tight schedule but who still want to experience the majesty of Colca Canyon.

Day 1
Await pick-up from your hostel in downtown Arequipa at around 7.30 or meet at the same time in front of the cathedral (Main Square) if you are staying further afield. Here you will be introduced to your guide and fellow travellers before heading off to Chivay. During the journey, you will make stops at the highest point (Patapampa) for a view of the Andes, Pampa Caรฑahuas for wildlife spotting and Tocrapampa, an area of wetlands.
Once you have arrived in Chivay, you will stop for lunch and check into your accommodation. At 15.00, you will be transported to the hot springs if you wish, for a relaxing afternoon. That evening, dinner is provided alongside a show of typical Peruvian dance.
Day 2
Breakfast will be served at 5.00 before guests are transported to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint to watch the flight of the Andean Condor. The wingspan of these incredible birds can reach up to a whopping 3 metres! This stop will also give you the opportunity to take in the views of the canyon and you will spend around two hours here in total.
The transport will take you back to Chivay for lunch with stops in traditional towns and villages during your journey. There is the option to return to Arequipa or be transported to Puno (bus station) for an additional cost.

2 Days / 1 Night With Horse Riding
Day 1
At 7.45 you will be picked up from your accommodation in downtown Arequipa and transported to Chivay. During the journey, there will be stops at Pampa Caรฑahuas where you can see vicuรฑas roam free and Tocrapampa, an area of wetlands where it is possible to get amazing views of the surrounding volcanoes.
After you have lunch (not included) in Chivay, you will check into the Posada del Colca Hotel. At 14.30, you will begin your horse riding adventure. Riding will take approximately 2-3 hours, while you explore the local villages and take in the epic scenery of the Colca Canyon. After your afternoon of horse riding, you will return to the hotel where you have the option to enjoy the hot springs before dinner (not included).
Day 2
Breakfast will be served at 5.30 before you are taken to the Mirador Cruz del Condor to witness the spectacular flight of the Condor. The stop here will take around two hours which will give you plenty of time to take photos of the impressive Colca Canyon. After this time, there is the option to do a walk for around an hour, however, this is optional.
On the return journey to Chivay, you will stop in Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque, as well as enjoying the other tourist viewpoints along the way. You can have lunch in Chivay (not included) before the transport takes you back to the city of Arequipa.

2 Days / 1 Night Including Source of the Great Amazon River (Mismi Mountain)
Day 1
Pick up begins at 2.30 from your accommodation in downtown Arequipa, or if not applicable, the cathedral in the Main Square. You will then be driven towards Chivay which is the gateway to the Colca Canyon. Breakfast will be served in the small village of Yanque before visiting the Cross of the Condor viewpoint. Here, you will be able to see the depth of the canyon and look out for Condors in flight.
You will visit some of the local towns where it is possible to learn about the local way of life and the agriculture that provides the income for so many of these people. 45 minutes will be spent at the hot springs before heading back to Chivay for lunch (not included).
After lunch, you will check-into your accommodation in Chivay and have free time in the afternoon. This will help you acclimatise.
Day 2
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation (around 5.00). You will leave Chivay in private transport to head to Carhuasanta which is located 5000 metres above sea level. The journey will take around two and a half hours. The Carhuasanta River is one of the great origins of the Amazon River. The area around the river showcases some dramatic landscapes and incredible wildlife spotting opportunities. You can see alpacas, llamas and typical Andean bird life.
Around 12.30, you will return to Chivay where there will be time for lunch before returning to Arequipa. On the return journey, you will stop at Patapampa, the viewpoint of the surrounding volcanoes and snow covered mountains as well as Pampa Caรฑahuas National Reserve for additional wildlife spotting.
You will be dropped in Arequipa one block from the Main Square around 18.00.
