Magicpacker Hostel – Chilled out vibes!
Magicpacker Hostel is an incredible spot for solo travellers who want to meet others but don’t intend on spending their entire visit partying.
With a huge communal courtyard and nightly activities to help travellers get to know each other, Magicpackers is a great spot for sociable backpackers looking to chill out and have a laugh. There is even a ping pong table!
Beer can be purchased from downstairs in reception and more fancy spirits are available in the bar upstairs after 6 pm. Keep a look out for happy hour deals which change daily!
Cheap and delicious food
Although Cusco is a city for foodies, you don’t need to go far to get your fill of tasty treats. Magicpackers offers a mix of comforting western food and traditional Peruvian, all for a steal of a price.
The Magic Burger which comes complete with chips costs just 12 soles and you can also chow down on tasty cheese and ham tequeños accompanied by home-made guacamole.
Although sometimes hostel food can be lacking in substance and flavour, this is not the case with Magicpackers who actually provided one of the best burgers I had in Cusco!
Free luggage storage
Magicpacker Hostel knows what it is that attracts backpackers to Cusco. This tourist hotspot is hugely popular for both day and overnight trips to sites such as the Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain and of course, Machu Picchu.
At the hostel, luggage storage is provided free of charge for guests. This baggage storage room is key locked at all times which means you can embark on trips galore knowing that your stuff is in safe hands!
Clean rooms and facilities
All of the rooms at Magicpackers are well kept and immaculately clean. Clean towels are provided daily and they even offer free toiletries.
There are both private and dorm options for backpackers to choose from. The cheapest dorm beds come in at just 30 soles per night and a twin private starts at 106 soles. Some rooms have private bathrooms whilst others benefit from shared facilities.
Vibrant artwork
There is no disputing that Magicpackers is a cool hostel. Beautiful hand painted artwork adorns the walls all over the hostel and appears to educate backpackers about how to truly experience another culture.
Magicpackers catchphrase is, always be a traveller and never a tourist, that is definitely a message that backpackers can relate to!
Perfect location
Situated only a couple of minutes from the San Pedro market, Magicpackers is nicely tucked off of the main tourist drag whilst still being close to everything.
The Plaza de Armas is around a 10-minute walk away and there is a road next to the hostel which is convenient as a tour pick-up point. Cheap eats frequent all of the surrounding streets, although the food at Magicpackers is great so you may not want to leave!
