Spotless and Roomy
Lima House Hostel offers both private and dorm rooms, all of which are very spacious. Big lockers to fit even the largest of backpacks are provided in the dorms and there are individual charging ports allocated to each bunk. The beds themselves are very comfortable and there is the option for women to stay in a female only dorm. As well as high-quality bedrooms, Lima House also boasts some exceptional shared facilities.

There is a communal lounge area which has two computers for guest use and a football table. All of the showers have hot water and are kept super clean. Both shampoo and liquid soap are provided for guests free of charge. It’s a little touch but something definitely appreciated by backpackers!
Complimentary Varied Breakfast
All room rates are inclusive of a buffet breakfast which is simple yet satisfying. Fresh fruit, bread, jam and butter are provided as well a choice of juices and a selection of hot drinks. Hot chocolate, tea and coffee are all available on demand.

The kitchen has all of the essentials, including a toaster and microwave so you are able to customise your breakfast. There is a large seating area in the kitchen which provides the perfect space for eating with your fellow travellers. This kitchen space is also available for communal use throughout the day, so it is possible to purchase your own food and cook using the facilities.
Local Info about Lima
From the moment you arrive in Lima House Hostel, it is clear that this is a team that really know what backpackers are looking for. There are folders full of tour information and recommendations of other popular destinations worth visiting in Peru. The notice board details a list of the best restaurants over the city and categorises these based on cuisine type.

Whilst most of these recommendations are aimed at the budget conscious, there is a mix of prices to suit all types of traveller. The hostel also displays posters which document where to find free walking tours in both downtown Lima and Miraflores. It is especially helpful to know all of your questions have been answered without you even needing to ask!
Fabulous Location Near Plaza de Armas
Whilst there are some great budget hostels all over Lima, not all of them benefit from a good location. Lima House is located just a twenty-minute walk from Plaza de Armas and there is a supermarket, as well as lots of commercial restaurants just across the road.

For those who can’t be bothered to journey out, beer, soft drinks and water are available for purchase inside the hostel. Any of the side streets offer budget Peruvian cuisine and it isn’t hard to find a cheap set menu nearby.
Although people exercise caution around the downtown area in Lima, the hostel is perfectly secure. There is a buzzer system onto the street and staff are more than happy to help you arrange transport. The road outside the front of the hostel is a good pick-up point for Uber.

The Best Thing? The Welcoming Staff at Lima House!
Surely the best thing about Lima House is the accommodating staff who run the hostel. Owner Alfonso is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and he will truly go out of his way to make sure that his guests have an enjoyable stay in the capital.
Recommendations are aplenty here as all of the staff have local knowledge. Aside from this, they also have a genuine interest in the needs of their guests.

Lima House recognises that many people travelling to Lima take night buses and will arrive at the hostel early. Even though check-in isn’t until 2 pm, they will try to offer you your bed on arrival if it is currently vacant. This is another example of the hostel acutely tuning into the needs of their guests, something that is hugely welcomed by backpackers.
