Went on the alternative perito Moreno tour yesterday and it was fantastic! Got very lucky with the weather, but it would have been great anyway, we were generally the first to arrive at each location, and got to take the back roads with no other tourists. The guide was really knowledgeable about local nature, and the boat trip and boardwalks bring you so close to the glacier, which is incredible. Would recommend to anyone to do

This was a day to remember. As soon as we stepped into the tour bus, we entered the Patagonian landscape. The first two hours were spent on an alternative route through the steppe, seeing many rhea and caracara. Our guide, Maria, was really well informed and so friendly. She told us about the glacial environment and also about the flora and fauna. We stopped off at a small estancia for a coffee before embarking on the Perito Moreno glaciar. On arrival, we first went on an hour-long walk through a small forest down to the lake shore, which was beautiful. Then we had the option of going on a boat tour right up to the glaciar which we decided to do. Highly recommended. Following that, we had some free time on the boardwalks of the national park, seeing the glaciar from all sides, which was spectacular. After a long day, we were driven back to our b&b. All in all, the service was incredible and always interesting. This can't be missed.
