This was a wonderful trip, our guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to learn a lot about the Peruvian and Arequipa culture as well as see lots of the natural beauty for which Peru is known. Stunning vistas as well as lots of active wildlife made for a wonderful day.
The Salinas Salt Lagoon is a real hidden pearl nestled away between the vulcanos. It's a nice tour to get used to the altitudes as a preparation for the hikes in and around colca canyon. Despite the weather (we had rain during our visit, so the salt lake wasn't completely white) we had an amazing time on an beautiful location. We spotted a lot of Llama's alpacas and vicunas and to our surprise the lake also houses flamingos. If you are looking to escape the big tourist attractions of Arequipa then this is your chance. During our whole day trip we have spotted one other couple, this really enhanced the feeling of exploring something new.
